At Nexus International School (Singapore), we serve the community every day in canteen, and at the Nexus Eco Cafe. A range of delicious food and drink options is available throughout the school day.

Snack and Drink Offering

The canteen offers a wide variety of healthy drinks and snacks, mostly marked with Singapore’s HPB Healthier Choice mark or a similar international mark.

Alongside packaged items, the canteen offers a selection of fresh morning tea items over the counter and for pre-orders - from yoghurt parfaits, cut fruit, fruit muffins, veggie sticks, pastries and more at $3.50 - $5.00

Pre-ordering is mandatory for Year 1 and 2.

Our lunchboxes are compliant with nutrition regulations and portion sizes, and all meals are packed in reusable stainless bentos.

Our options are:

Young Eaters: Mild flavours, soft textures, and smaller pieces.
Asian: Flavours from primarily Eastern Asian cuisines, including Korean, Japanese and Chinese inspired dishes.
Vegetarian: Internationally inspired plant-based menus. Some dishes are completely Vegan and free from dairy and egg.
Western: A curated yet varied collection of dishes from Europe, the Americas, and the Levant.
Toscana: Classic all-time favourite pizza and pasta dishes, served with fresh vegetables.

Nursery and Kindergarten receive a Learning Lunch

These lunches are prepared freshly and packed, and are served to Early Years Learners in their designated dining area every day. A portion of fresh fruit is included with every meal.

The menu is specifically tailored for young tastebuds, and a daily allergy-friendly and vegetarian option is served.

Learning Lunches Menu

Students in Y3-13 buy their snacks, drinks and meals using their Nexus Learner ID card.

Daily lunch options include:

SenseAsia: Build a full meal from tasty freshly cooked Asian dishes
Western: A curated yet varied collection of dishes from Europe, the Americas, and the Levant.
Vegetarian: Internationally inspired plant-based menus. Some dishes are completely Vegan and free from dairy and egg.
Toscana: Classic all-time favourite pizza and pasta dishes, served with fresh vegetables.
Spices: A scrumptious Indian or Mediterranean/Middle Eastern dish.

Tasty salads and sandwiches are prepared and served every day at our Grab and Go counter. A salad bar is also available.

Students in Y12 and Y13 may also purchase coffee and tea from our barista at the Eco Cafe or Grab and Go counter.

Use the Flexischools app to top up and pre-order (Y1/2)

Flexischools is a leading school cashless platform, supporting over 2,500 institutions in Australia, Singapore and across South East Asia. We have chosen them as our system provider, enabling pre-orders and e-wallet top-ups via an easy single app or via a web-portal. You only need one account to manage orders for the whole family.

Flexischools maintains rigorous data protection policies which exceed most requirements, and is in full compliance with Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA).

You will receive a system invite email titled "Our school is online with Flexischools!" to your family's primary email address as registered with Nexus. Follow the easy steps in the email to install the app and log in with ease - your child's details, including their class number and Nexus ID number will be synced securely by the school to the system, so you do not need to complete any additional registration steps.

E-wallets? Top-ups? What do you mean?

The Nexus Learner EZLink card is useful, but in regular operations, the processing time for each transaction in the canteen slows down your child's lunch queue.

The good news is that the Learner Card can also function as an ID Badge - linked automatically to your child's profile on the system, it then gains the additional ability of charging directly to your family's Flexischools E-wallet.

Apart from shortening transaction times to 1 second, using Flexi Wallets brings the following benefits:

Automatic wallet top‑up (i.e. maintain a constant e-wallet balance)
Daily spending limits, with the ability to set a limit for each child in your family
Allergen controls (coming soon)
Restricted or prohibited items
Full traceability and visibility of at-counter purchases by your children
One wallet for your family - no need to top up multiple cards or add money to more than 1 system!

The E-wallet will become the default payment method for Learners, but of course, this transition will take time. We will continue to support EZLink and Credit Card payments for the first few months.
